DESCRIPTION: Groenberg is a 1000m ASL high lone standing mountain covered by fynbos and dense proteas, chest high in places.

SAHPA GRADING: Basic + 1 Guided (IPPA3).
WIND: WSW to SSE
GPS: S33º35’14'' E19º02'.51"
ALTITUDE: 540m ASL.

- Langebaanweg clearance required if flying XC to the north.

LAUNCH: Via Standvastigheid Farm, Wellington. 4X4 required.
LANDING:
- A clear strip of land just north of the pigsty.
- No 6 Restaurant at Welbedacht Wine Estate.  They are very friendly, pro PG. Land on the Cricket Oval.
CAUTIONS: Most of the fields in front of TO are covered by vinyeard wires.  Make sure the field you are landing in is clear
CARETAKER: Kaapse Buitepos Klub.
PERMISSION: Member only. Guest by invitation.
SITE RULES: Private land. Please read the rules before entering Standvastigheid.
SITE FEES: R50-00 per pilot.

Porterville Paragliding - Blue Lotus Water Lily.

The lovely Blue Lotus Water Lily is South Africas’ most common indigenous water lily and is found in ponds, rivers and dams in and around rural Porterville.

The water lily does not have true stems, the leaves grow on long petioles (leaf stalks) and one plant can spread over an area of about 1 metre.

White, mauve and pink are other colour forms that occasionally occur. The flowers are fragrant and visited constantly by bees for pollination. A fully open flower measures 15-20 cm across and lasts for about four days. Once flower buds rise to the water surface they open in the morning and close in the evening.
